This boiler care is fantastic, I have had to call out an engineer twice in the past six months. first time my appointment was arranged same day, fault diagnosed, part ordered and repaired the next day. second time next day appointment and fault diagnosed and fixed same day. I would recommend homecare to everyone. I would like to add that all the people I have dealt with from the person on the phone to the engineers were all pleasant, professional and couldn't do enough to help.

Reported fault at 09:00 11/02/2008, appointment given for same day before 13:00, had a call about 12:00 saying engineering stuck on previous job and would not make it, offered new appointment or same afternoon. Requested if engineer could come asap that day, he arrived by 14:00 and fixed fault by 15:00 (new valve fitted). Apart from BG not being able to meet original appointment everything was very satisfactory.

Had Homecare for over 10 years now. On occasions my (now) old Maxol boiler has broken down. Service has always been prompt, efficient and polite and any problems fixing quickly resolved. Very happy customer!

Took out British Gas Homecare last year and had to call them out for my timer and a leaking bathroom and I have to say they were excellent. Prompt and sorted the problems out and explained to me what they had done.

The support we have received from British Gas has been excellent. On two occassions we have needed assistance with boiler failure and in each case an engineer visited promptly and resolved the problem.

British Gas Electrical Care is available to anyone, not just British Gas Customers

British Gas Electrical Care provides you with security & comfort that should anything happen to your electrics that a fully qualified engineer is on hand 365 days a year to fix the problem. There are no hidden charges, you pay a flat monthly rate which includes, call out, labour & parts, and they'll be on hand when you need it most.

 

This is an ideal time to take out Home Electrical Care due to the more stringent regulations or 'Part P', For example you can replace a fuse, plug, light bulb, socket-outlet or a light switch on an existing circuit and you will not need to notify this to a building control body (although there are some exceptions for high risk areas such as kitchens and bathrooms).

However, all other electrical work must be notified to the local authority building control department.

 

Alternatively you may be interested in British Gas HomeCare plans which offer all the benefits of the Electrical Care but also covers Heating, Plumbing, Drains & Electrical Care.

 

Tips for Buying Home Electrical Care

  • Remember, home electrical care only covers just that, if you need more comprehensive cover then the HomeCare or HomeCare Flexi plans may be more suitable
  • Remember, you get an electrical check-up every 2 years, make a note in your diary when it's due and ensure the engineer is booked.
